Islamabad hosts art exhibition in support of Gaza people

An exhibition titled "Art for Gaza" has been launched in Islamabad, Pakistan, showcasing the solidarity of Pakistani artists with the oppressed people of Gaza.

AhlulBayt News Agency: An exhibition titled "Art for Gaza" has been launched in Islamabad, Pakistan, showcasing the solidarity of Pakistani artists with the oppressed people of Gaza.

According to IQNA, several embassies in Islamabad, including the Cultural Attaché of the Iranian Embassy, contributed to organizing the event. The exhibition features a diverse collection of artworks across various disciplines, including painting, sculpture, photography, theater, and music, reflecting perspectives from across Pakistan.

Jamal Shah, a distinguished artist and former Pakistani Minister of Culture, spearheaded the event through his Silk Road Foundation. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Shah expressed deep sympathy for the people of Gaza, stating, "We are witnessing the most brutal crimes being committed against Gaza’s defenseless population today."

He lamented the inaction of Muslim countries, saying, "Unfortunately, in these critical times, Muslim nations have failed to take a stand against the bloodthirsty Zionist regime." According to Shah, organizing the exhibition was the least Pakistani artists could do to demonstrate solidarity with Gaza.

The event also featured addresses from the ambassador of Palestine and the Iranian Cultural Attaché, emphasizing the need for global awareness and support.

At the conclusion of the week-long exhibition, the showcased artworks will be auctioned, with proceeds directed toward aiding the people of Gaza.

Since October 7, 2023, more than 53,000 Palestinians, primarily women and children, have been killed in Israel’s ongoing war on Gaza.
